RC Redliwil launches initiative for local youth support

Thursday, December 5, 2024

As part of its motto "Friends help friends", the Rotary Club of Redliwil has launched a new initiative to support young people from the region. The project, entitled "Shaping the future - promoting young talent ", aims to offer young people between the ages of 14 and 18 career guidance, mentoring and financial support for educational projects.

Project launch and initial successes

The initiative was officially presented during the last club meeting on December 5, 2024 at the Hotel Bären. President Andreas Zimmermann explained: "It is our responsibility to open up paths for the next generation and to accompany them on their way. With this initiative, we are making a sustainable contribution to our community."

Five scholarships for outstanding academic and social achievements have already been awarded during the pilot phase. In addition, 15 mentors were recruited from the ranks of the members to give the young people practical insights into various professional fields.

Cooperation with local schools and companies

The project is being implemented in close cooperation with three regional schools and several companies from Redliwil and the surrounding area. "The combination of school support and practical experience is key," says Nina Berger-Savoy, project coordinator at RC Redliwil. The participating companies offer internships and workshops in areas such as technology, business and the creative industries.

Charity event to support the initiative

To fund further scholarships and programs, the club is planning a charity event: "Charity Dinner: Enjoyment for the Future", on 15 January 2025 at the Hotel Bären. All proceeds will go directly to the project.
